Early Spring in the Arboreteum!

The arboretum area at Bernheim was awash in blooms Sunday and the blue skies just added that much more color. Lake Nevin sits in the background of two of the images. I noticed while driving around the main entrance road, which circles all the way around the tall grass prairie, that the forest rangers had done several controlled burns this past winter. One in the prairie and one along the side of the forest road. I wouldn't doubt if the area they burned in the prairie will come completely back this summer. It's still quite cold here and we may get snow showers tonight, but later this week it's supposed to get back to the 60's and maybe even 70's. ENJOY!

  3. The grass looks so green and those trees and shrubs have glorious color already. Must be all the moisture you've had.

  4. Great photos of a wonderful place to visit. So close to the city. Passed it a kazilion times driving the interstate before the Little Woman and I ran across it. You have done a splendid job
    capturing it.
