Reflections of Summer, Bernheim

Every now and then I explore an area of Bernheim that I've not previously visited. While doing so I take specific photos, but this image was one of those images I took knowing I wouldn't like it when I saw it in my software. I was right. But I knew it had potential. I just had to find it and bring it out. After what I like to call 'messing around in my software', I came up with this image. I like the effect and the feel it gave the entire photo. I love photographing the old weathered worn wooden benches that are situated throughout Bernheim. And there are quite a few of them. Our weather here has been cold. But we're going to warm up. And that makes me happy. ENJOY!

Sitting Pretty, Bernheim Arboretum & Research Forest

Come sit a while with me and take in the Magnolia trees with their beautiful pink, purple and yellow blooms. Let that fantastic sweet scent tickle your nose. Do something one might not often do, stop and smell the Magnolias. ENJOY!

Wooden Bench!

Wooden bridge over a stream along the Bent Twig Loop. Wooden bridge across Lake Nevin. And now, a wooden bench sitting idle waiting for a visitor to sit upon it as I walked down to the water's edge at Mac's Lake. Wood. To me wood is a living thing even after we have cut down the tree. Because we take the living tree and create something new. Something lasting. Something beautiful. ENJOY!
