Great Blue Heron

Today was a beautiful day with lots of blue skies and sunshine. So I took a drive to the Somerville Mine area of Southern Indiana. My hope was to conjure up a few Short Earred Owls. Most of what I saw were Hawks hunting for voles.

Right before I was leaving I noticed this Great Blue Heron eyeing something intently in the tall grasses near a large marsh. I enjoyed photographing the Heron as normally when I do they're knee deep in water in the marshes at Mustatatuck. Hope you're having a fantastic weekend. ENJOY!
