Fall's Leftovers

Is it a coincidence that beautiful Fall colors are followed by Winter's dull and dreary days followed by Spring's brightly colored bulbs. I think not. I think there surely is a reason why Winter was tucked in between two radiant colorful seasons with reds and oranges and yellows and blues and purples and pinks. Special Note: Set your turkey out to thaw. ENJOY!

Ravishing Fall Color

The natural beauty of Fall is quickly coming to an end. I relish every single moment of Fall with its reds, yellows, oranges and even its greens. There are times when one snaps an image only to realize later that it needs no words as it speaks for itself. This is one of those times. ENJOY!

Fall Leaves III, Mustatatuck NWR

Before we journey into the Holidays with Santa Claus and reindeer sleigh, with Deck the Halls and Christmas Day, let's savour this moment . . .
. . . where frosty morns birth from chilly nights. Where Autumn breezes mildly bite. Where maple leaves shine colors bright. While Autumn's colors wake up our senses, Holiday dreams send us longing. Savour Autumn's vivid colors, as soon the Holidays will thrust us deep into the midst of a rushed fever. Let us steal these moments and remain where the Peace of the Season fills us with calm. Have a wonderful Fall weekend all. ENJOY!

Fall Leaves I, Blackacre Nature Preserve

There were so many gorgeous leaves that had fallen from the trees when I visited Blackacre a few weeks ago that I took images left and right.
I simply love images of fallen leaves, but even more so when they are highlighted with such a gorgeous yellow centerpiece such as this one. It was an absolutely gorgeous Fall here in Kentucky this year. I hope your Fall was too. I have many more images of my travels and Fall images to share with you over the next few weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. Can you believe we're talking turkey already? ENJOY!

Reaching Peak, Bernheim's Fall

As I drove the usual route through Bernheim late day recently, I found some of the trees were reaching peak while others would probably reach their peak by week's end. This weekend is Bernheim's Colorfest. I decided to pay a visit prior to the big event while the throngs of visitors weren't present and Bernheim was quiet and serene as is the usual.
As I passed the Sun and Shade Trail, I looked back across the tallgrass prairie at the log cabin which houses various events throughout the year at Bernheim. It was so beautiful, I stopped and took a few images to share with you.
Farther on down the same road, I looked across the prairie in the opposite direction to see the huge maple tree that sits along the road leading to Mac's Lake. It's yellows were peaking and the trees shrouded in orange close by, well, I was left with no other alternative but to stop and take a few images here as well. Every year it is so gorgeous to see the beautiful trees transformed to yellows, oranges and reds at one of my favorite places to visit, Bernheim. Everyone have a great week. ENJOY!
