These are Tupelo trees knee deep in the swamp of Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge. You'll find this totally cool place to visit in southernmost Illinois. I found it on my way back from a trip to the UP in Michigan. You should make a point to visit this area. You'll swear you're in the swamps of the Louisiana Bayous.
