Springtime at Bernheim!

Today was overcast, however, I had taken the day off and decided to drive out to one of my favorite haunts, Bernheim Arboretum & Forest. Springtime is so beautiful this time of year at Bernheim. And I am guilty of forgetting just how beautiful. I took many many photos which I'll post over the next few days. These are a few of the picks I took while on my walk near the lake. Enjoy!

Postscript: Well Frank posted today that these beautiful flowers are Foxgloves. I am terrible at identifying flowers and not a whole lot better at most birds. Yes, I know the cardinals, blue jays, robins, sparrows, finches, etc. but that's mostly it so I guess I have some work to do learning, flowers, butterflies, more birds, etc. etc. You get the picture, but hey, I'm working on it! Thanks, Frank.

These are wonderful! I especially like the composition in the first shot. This is the first year that I haven't had foxgloves in my garden. I miss them already.

Looking forward to the rest of the photos from this shoot.

Carol, I have a stack of field guides right by my computer, and spend a great deal of time looking things up.

  3. These foxgloves are stunning - they normally like cool weather - I can even grow them at altitude.
