This image takes me back nearly ten years to a trip I took to Michigan in 2002. I drove north from Kentucky through Indiana to Michigan and farther north to the Upper Peninsula. Driving home I took the Wisconsin route back and came down all the way through Illinois. It was a long eight day trip but I found Lake Superior the most breathtaking place to visit, especially along the shores of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This image I snapped on a very, very brief stop in southeastern Wisconsin at Horicon Marsh which is near Oshkosh. Fortunately you could drive around the marsh area almost the entire circumference. I didn't see many large birds but spotted this guy right before I left and stopped to take a photo. All of the images from Saturday until today are scans from old slides. I hope I'm not boring you. Love the insight into his/her world. They are some of my favorite subjects. I love watching them hunt. It doesn't hurt they are bigger then songbirds either, haha.
