Purple Clematis

This beautiful Clematis is growing in my sister's yard and it is absolutely gorgeous right now. It is covered in blooms. I couldn't help but take a photo and post it for all to see. This I believe is a hybrid clematis. According to one source I read the clematis is a "social plant" that likes to "mix it up in the garden" which I interpret to mean they like to climb, climb, climb as they vine. It's deep bluish purple blooms just draw you in. It is a rainy, messy, Derby weekend here. Perhaps tomorrow it will lighten up and I can get outside. Enjoy!

  1. What a beauty! I am not having much luck with mine in Denver, and they won't grow at all in the Mts. Glad you shared your Sis'!

It is more purple than what I usually see. I wonder if it is to do with the soil? Anyway, it is lovely, and this is a very good shot.

Hope you get out to enjoy the weekend.

  4. Have a while to go before ours open their blooms. Raining here at the moment so hope the sun shines for you very soon. FAB.
