Along my walk Friday I happened upon this beautiful flower called Bellflower. I read that it gets its name from it's "bell" shaped bloom. I especially love its vivid bluish-purple color and how dainty it looks just hanging there. The bellflower blooms through mid-summer so I'll have to check the next time I visit Berheim to see if it's still sprouting blooms. The sun is finally shining more than a couple of hours at a time here in Kentucky. However, it's 90 degrees. I really don't know what's worst . . . the heat or the rain. Enjoy!
What a vivid photo of the Bellflower! I actually grow them in my mountain garden - but they only bloom late in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI grow them too, Carol. Mine won't bloom until late July. This a great shot.
